Explore the campaignTHE SETTING
West Africa, 1892. The Kingdom of Dahomey faces a French colonial expedition advancing inland toward Abomey.
The campaign sits within a wider history of colonial expansion and resistance. Dahomey 1892 takes this setting as the starting point for a strategy game that asks players to consider terrain, position, and the limits of command.
Historical sources need context. Our approach is to explore military decisions while recognising the people, perspectives, and consequences beyond the battlefield.

Gameplay concept
Work in progress
A readable battlefield, clear unit counters, and the information you need to consider the next move. The map is the heart of the experience.
A study in rivers, woodland, and open ground. We are exploring how terrain can shape movement and make every route a meaningful choice.
A focused unit panel brings the essentials closer. This interface study explores how to communicate strength and movement without hiding the battlefield.
These interface studies illustrate the intended visual direction. They are not screenshots of a released game. Features and presentation may change during development.
THE DESIGN DIRECTION
Research informs the setting and gives the campaign its character. The aim is a distinctive historical situation, with context that invites you to look further.
Our direction is deliberate, turn-based play. Position, movement, and terrain should make a small number of choices worth thinking about.
Designed around touch from the beginning. A clear 2D map and focused controls should put the situation in your hand, without getting in its way.
